Christmas Lunch

Last year I celebrated x’mas in Singapore Raffles with my sisters. This year I was away from my family and going through a new tradition with my husband’s accustomed. I dressed up in my Ted Baker sun dress and we left at 11am to Uncle Ken Bates /Aunt Patti Chong’s crib in Dalkeith. It was burning 40degrees in Perth.

I was greeted with love as I entered the front gate baby steps all the way in. I won’t deny that I felt a little out of place, but it took me a while to blend in. Uncle Ken recommended me a glass of Bollinger champagne when I was seating quietly on the breakfast table waiting for lunch to be served. It brought back memories of 2yrs ago on how I began drinking this particular brand as I mixed it with creme de casis (Kir Royal). I couldn’t resist the temptation and requested for a cherry to drown in with it. I got what I wanted. In just a few minutes all the other glasses followed and was filled with a cherry just like mine. Cute. The thirst was undeniable. I was loosening up by the time I reached my third glass for that morning smiling.

On the dining table.. there was the gigantic juicy leg ham marinated with maple syrup, orange juice and dijon mustard, fresh oysters side with steamed prawns, scallops pan fried with avocado salad, grilled turkey, japanese seaweed and oven baked sweet potatoes.

After lunch Raeley (wesley’s one and only niece) persuaded me to go swimming. I forgot to bring over my bikini so Eva Bates lent me a pair. I placed it on top of my husband to decide on which pair to wear. The apple green suit was a bit bigger hence Eva suggested that I should go with the Burberry pair that’s a size smaller sited on the side of him in the picture.

Since I live an unhealthy life with no exercise in my daily routine. Swimming ate up all my energy in minutes. I was practically struggling in water. I gave up and took a dip in the jacuzzi instead. Uncle Ken kept me companied and we sang together by the pool side as he strummed his acoustic guitar.

We didn’t leave the place till it was like 7.30pm. I must say, I had fun. =)

  1. It was a day full of joyous, family and people that i wouldn’t do without. You guys out there, the picture of me with the green pair of bikini wasn’t my idea. I was drugged and paralyzed. Anyway, if i had a choice,it’ll be the itsy bitsy yellow polka dot bikini that i would rather wear. My wife choose that for me.
